About this programme

The Energy Efficiency Grant (EEG) aims to help businesses improve their energy efficiency by co-funding investment in energy-efficient (EE) equipment.

The EEG will provide two tiers of support – a base tier to provide support for pre-approved EE equipment up to S$30,000; and an advanced tier to support companies for larger investments that drive greater energy efficiency.

Eligibility

Applicants must meet all the following eligibility criteria at the point of application for the respective tiers of support:

Base tier
  • Business entity registered and operating in Singapore in the following sectors:
    • Construction companies classified under SSIC 41 to 43
    • Data Centres and their users (equipment purchased must be hosted at a commercial data centre in Singapore)
    • Food Services companies with valid Singapore Food Agency (SFA) licence and classified under SSIC 56 or 68104
    • Maritime companies which include:
      • Harbourcraft companies owning/operating harbourcraft licensed by MPA
      • Port companies classified under SSIC 23940, 24109, 49231, 50021, 50023, 52101, 52221, 52222, 52224, 52243, 52292
    • Manufacturing companies classified under SSIC 10 to 32 (including Food Manufacturing)
    • Retail companies classified under SSIC 47
  • Minimum 30% local shareholding*, with at least one local employee at the firm-level
  • Group Annual Sales Turnover of no more than S$500 million
  • Equipment purchased must be used in Singapore

* For users of data centres, business entities need not have a minimum of 30% local shareholding criteria.

Advanced tier (only available for selected sectors)
  • Business entity registered and operating in Singapore in the following sectors:
    • Construction companies classified under SSIC 41 to 43
    • Manufacturing companies classified under SSIC 10 to 32 (including Food Manufacturing)
    • Maritime companies which include:
      • Harbourcraft companies owning/operating harbourcraft licensed by MPA
      • Port companies classified under SSIC 23940, 24109, 49231, 50021, 50023, 52101, 52221, 52222, 52224, 52243, 52292
  • Minimum 30% local shareholding, with at least one local employee at the firm-level
  • Group Annual Sales Turnover of no more than S$500 million
  • Equipment purchased must be used in Singapore

Companies may not be eligible for the grant if they have commenced procurement of the equipment at the point of grant application.

The application may be rejected if any of the following have taken place before the application date:

  • Companies have made payment to a third-party, who is part of the application
  • Companies have signed contractual agreement(s) with a third party, who is part of the application

To minimise application delays, companies are encouraged to take note of the following.

  • Please include the breakdown of fees within submitted quotations.
  • A new application will be required in the event of a vendor change following application approval
  • Multiple application submissions are required for different equipment types/models
  • Documents/information to prepare
    • Quotations from your vendor
    • Product brochures
    • Tenancy Agreement or Contractual Agreements related to the deployment location(s), utility bills, telco bills
    • Financial statements
    • Corporate structure in event of complex shareholdings (where required)
