About this programme

Organised by Plug and Play, the GIA San Francisco Acceleration Programme is designed to help Singapore-based startups in gaining a foothold in San Francisco.

The programme is offered in a hybrid format:

Preparation Phase
This 3-week virtual segment consists of workshops, pitch polishing sessions, and one-on-one mentorships sessions and introductory meetings with prospective partners.

Immersion Phase
Participants will travel to San Francisco for 2 weeks (with the option to extend by 1-week), to continue business discussions and engage with potential partners, clients and investors. Participants will also pitch at Plug and Play’s US Summit and continue to receive support from Plug and Play.

    Through virtual workshops, industry experts will share practical tips on the business landscape in San Francisco, talent acquisition, regulations, and scaling in the market.

    Participants will receive mentorship with industry experts who are aligned to their business and interests.

    Direct market immersion and networking
    During the immersion in San Francisco, participants will get access to co-working spaces, live fireside chats and office hours with Plug and Play's network of partners. Participants will also get to meet business leads in-person. Participants will have an opportunity to pitch at events such as Plug and Play's bi-annual US Summit.

    Company has at least 30% local equity held directly or indirectly by Singaporean(s) and/or Singapore PR(s), determined by the ultimate individual ownership

    Has a minimum viable product with existing customers and/or partners

    Has the potential to address market needs in San Francisco and the region
