A classic collaboration

Sentosa Development Corporation’s search for eco-friendly, self-sufficient accommodations to boost tourism in Singapore’s Southern Islands led them to participate in the 2021 Sustainability Open Innovation Challenge. Teaming up with Singapore-based company Big Tiny, who offers compact, eco-friendly accommodations to urban dwellers in idyllic locations, they came together to create Tiny Away Escape @ Lazarus Island. This came in the form of themed tiny houses dispersed across the island. The project received more than 600 visitors registering their interest in the tiny houses even before the official launch.
