: Singapore and Guangdong to deepen cooperation in emerging areas of green economy and healthcare & biomedical

Economic relations between Singapore and Guangdong remain resilient with bilateral trade increasing 8.2% year-on-year to reach RMB167.7 billion last year. In 2023, Guangdong maintained its position as Singapore’s top provincial trading partner for the 35th consecutive year.
Against this backdrop, the 14th Singapore-Guangdong Collaboration Council (SGCC) meeting took place at the China-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City (CSGKC) in Guangzhou today. This marked the first time the SGCC meeting was held in the CSGKC. Minister for Health Mr Ong Ye Kung and Guangdong Governor Mr Wang Weizhong co-chaired the meeting, which was attended by close to 200 officials and business representatives from Singapore and China. Mr Alvin Tan, Minister of State for Trade and Industry and Culture, Community and Youth was also present at the session.
